What to Expect
EXPLORE. CREATE. IMAGINE.
Scoop School is a hands-on ice cream workshop
designed for curious kids ages 6–12.
Through fun demonstrations and guided activities,
our Little Ice Cream Scientists explore
the science behind how ice cream is made
while creating (and tasting!) along the way.
Kids will learn about freezing, temperature, ingredients,
texture and how air affects ice cream,
with opportunities to see and compare
different ice cream-making methods in action.
They’ll put what they’ve learned to work by creating
and layering their very own pint to take home.
Each workshop combines learning, creativity
and plenty of fun, and every Little Ice Cream Scientist
leave with their own pint and a Scoop School certificate
to celebrate completing the class.
Workshop FAQs
What is the recommended age?
Our workshops are geared towards ages 6-12 years old.
How long is each session?
A typical workshop lasts approximately 90 minutes. This gives everyone plenty of time to learn, create, and—most importantly—taste!
Do you have vegan options?
Currently we do not offer vegan options for our Scoop School workshop.
We can accommodate gluten-friendly and nut-free options.
Our shop however is not an allergy-free facility, and we process products that may contain dairy, soy, nut and wheat in our kitchen.
Can I host a private party?
Absolutely! We love hosting birthday parties and corporate team-building events. Contact us for availability.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just your appetite for fun and a willingness to learn and explore! We provide all the ingredients and tools you'll need to become an ice cream pro for the day.
What do we get to take home?
Your child will churn and pack up their own pint creation to take home! A sundae bar will be available during the workshop so they can have a treat during the class. There will also be an art activity during the class so they'll be able to bring home an artful creation.
Can parent's stay for the class?
Our workshops are guided with trained staff and is strictly drop-off for children.
Guardians are welcome to grab a coffee nearby and visit the Forks while class is in session.
Do you have workshops for adults?
We are currently working on creating a class just for adults. While we don't have one listed on our website just yet, contact us at mymilksmith@gmail.com for inquiries.
