Where are your parties held?

How long are your parties?

Parties run about 2 hours and are held outside our regular business hours. This gives you private use of our space.  We try to leave some time near the end of the party for present opening and farewells.

Are your parties just for birthdays and kids?

Our parties are perfect for anyone who loves ice cream and sweets, regardless of age! We've hosted parties for mom groups, staff appreciations, Bat Mitzvah, team building, and more.  If you have an idea, shoot us an email and let us help you plan a special sweet get together!

Can we arrive early?

You may arrive 15 minutes prior to your party start time.  Please do not arrive earlier than 15 minutes prior to your party start time as our staff will be performing opening procedures beforehand, so if you arrive too early you may have to wait before they can accommodate you.

What do I need to bring?

A lot of hosts will bring in pizza for lunch for guests, just let us know ahead of time and we can set up plates. We provide and set up table cloths, activity place mats, napkins, plates, cups and ice water. Our staff run the events and make it an interactive experience for guests, so you'll be all set!

Can I bring a cake or cupcakes?

Our parties include a mini cup of ice cream to eat during the party and generally this is enough for dessert.  However, you are welcome to bring in a cake or cupcakes from a commercial bakery if you wish.

Can adults stay for the party?

We recommend 1-3 hosting adults stay for the party and drop off for guests as space and seating is limited. If you have some parent's of guests that would like to stay, please be advised it may be standing room only for adults.

What types of parties do you do?

We have two types of parties:

  1.  Ice Cream Pint Party - During your ice cream party, guests will create their own custom ice cream flavour, colour the box label and bring home their creation! They’ll also get to eat some yummy ice cream as we always make an extra mini cup to enjoy at the shop—full pint is what they go home with.

  1. Donut Decorating Party- During your donut party guests will decorate their own box of mini donuts (9 per box), colour the box label and bring home their creation! They’ll also eat some yummy donuts as we make extra to decorate and eat at the party, and they’ll each receive a mini cup of ice cream to make a donut sundae. 

You would choose one type of party experience (either ice cream party or mini donut party) and any additional add-on activities to create your party package. 

How much does a party cost?

Party packages are customized to which activities/decor you'd like to include as well as number of guests. Please note all parties have a $300 (before tax) minimum that goes towards the total cost of the party (not in addition to).   

Ice Cream Pints: $29/guest plus tax

-includes colouring label activity, choice from two ice cream base flavours (pre-determined), choice of mix-ins and drizzles.

OR

Donut Decorating: $36/guest plus tax 

-includes colouring label activity, mini donuts to decorate (sprinkles, frostings, candy) for take home and extras to eat at the party and an ice cream sundae

What decor is included?

For decor we set up tables with table cloths and have a backdrop for photos. We have some fun table decor to hold markers and table confetti.  A balloon garland can be added (please see party add-on options).

Is there a minimum number of guests?

For party bookings we do not have a minimum number of guests, however we require a $300 (before tax) minimum charge (this goes towards the total cost of the party, not in addition to).  You choose which activities you would like to include with your pints or donuts to reach the minimum. 

How many guests can you accommodate?

We recommend a max of 14-15 participants.  

How do I book a party?

Choose if you'd like to book an ice cream party or donut decorating party, pick an available date/time slot on our online calendar.  You can reserve your party through placing a non-refundable deposit online.  Once we receive your deposit, our party planner will reach out to you to confirm your party activities and preferences and provide a complete package quote.

What if our guest count changes?

We will check in with you closer to your party date to confirm final guest count.  If your guest count changes on the event date, your balance will be updated and you will only be charged for the guests that attend provided you meet the party booking minimum.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a non-refundable deposit in order to secure your requested event date.  The remaining balance will be due at the end of the party and that balance alone is refundable if Milksmith Inc. receives written notice of cancellation more than 14 days prior to the event date.  In light of Covid-19, if we are unable to perform services or if the client becomes ill, an alternative date will be rescheduled based upon availability within the same contracted year.  All event must adhere to current health regulations, and we reserve the right to refuse and end service without penalty should the event and/or patrons not be in adherence.
