Where are your parties held?

Our parties take place inside our shop at 651 Corydon Avenue in Winnipeg.

 

How long are your parties?

Our parties typically last for approximately 2 hours and are scheduled outside our regular business hours. This grants you exclusive access to our space, ensuring the entire shop is reserved just for your celebration! We aim to allocate some time towards the end of the party for the opening of presents and farewells.

Are your parties just for birthdays and kids?

Whether you're a fan of ice cream and sweets, our parties are a perfect fit for enthusiasts of all ages! We've successfully hosted gatherings for mom groups, staff appreciations, Bat Mitzvahs, team-building events, and more. If you have a unique idea in mind, send us an email, and let us assist you in planning a special and sweet get-together! 

Can we arrive early?

Feel free to arrive up to 15 minutes before your scheduled party start time. However, we kindly request that you do not arrive earlier than 15 minutes prior to your party start time. Our staff conducts opening procedures beforehand, and arriving too early may result in a brief wait before we can fully accommodate you..

What do I need to bring?

Many hosts choose to bring in pizza for lunch for their guests. Just inform us in advance, and we'll arrange plates and napkins for the setup. We take care of providing and setting up tablecloths, activity place mats, napkins, plates, cups, and ice water. Our dedicated staff manages the events, ensuring an interactive experience for your guests.

Can I bring my own additional activities?

We kindly request that you refrain from bringing in additional activities to our party bookings. Our packages are designed to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience, and introducing external activities may disrupt the planned festivities. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Can I bring food or drinks?

Each party package includes a mini cup of ice cream for every participant, providing a delightful treat to enjoy during the festivities and serving as a satisfying dessert. Some hosts choose to bring in pizza for lunch, kindly arrange it with us ahead of time and we will set up plates and napkins.  While we welcome you to bring in a cake or cupcakes from a commercial bakery if you wish, please note that we currently do not permit outside food or drink that is readily available for purchase at our shop. Kindly inform us in advance if you plan to bring any outside food or drink, allowing for pre-approval and smooth coordination.

Can I bring my own decor?

We appreciate your enthusiasm for adding personal touches to your celebration. While we do not permit bringing your own balloon garland, you are welcome to bring helium balloons, provided they are securely attached to a balloon weight. Our policies do not allow attaching balloons or decor to our walls or backdrop. Thank you for understanding.

Can adults stay for the party?

We recommend 1-3 hosting adults stay for the party and drop off for guests as space and seating is limited. If you have some parent's of guests that would like to stay, please be advised it may be standing room only for adults.

What types of parties do you do?

We have two types of parties:

Ice Cream Pint Party - During your ice cream party, guests will create their own custom ice cream flavour, colour the box label and bring home their creation! They’ll also get to eat some yummy ice cream as we always make an extra mini cup to enjoy at the shop—full pint is what they go home with.

Donut Decorating Party- During your donut party guests will decorate their own box of mini donuts (9 per box), colour the box label and bring home their creation! They’ll also eat some yummy donuts as we make extra to decorate and eat at the party, and they’ll each receive a mini cup of ice cream to make a donut sundae. 

You would choose one type of party experience (either ice cream party or mini donut party) and any additional add-on activities to create your party package. 

How much does a party cost?

Party packages are customized to which activities/decor you'd like to include as well as number of guests. Please note all parties have a $350 (before tax) minimum that goes towards the total cost of the party (not in addition to).   

Ice Cream Pints: $34/guest plus tax

-includes colouring label activity, choice from two ice cream base flavours, choice of mix-ins and drizzles.

OR

Donut Decorating: $42/guest plus tax 

-includes colouring label activity, mini donuts to decorate (sprinkles, frostings, candy) for take home and extras to eat at the party and an ice cream sundae

What decor is included?

For decor we set up tables with table cloths. A balloon garland can be added (please see party add-on options).

Is there a minimum number of guests?

For party bookings, there is no specified minimum number of guests. However, a minimum charge of $350 (before tax) is required, which contributes to the overall party cost rather than being an additional fee. You have the flexibility to select the activities you'd like to include with your ice cream pints or donuts to meet this minimum requirement.

How many guests can you accommodate?

We recommend a max of 14-15 participants.  

How do I book a party?

Decide whether you'd prefer to book an ice cream party or a donut decorating party, and select an available date and time slot from our online calendar. Secure your party reservation by placing a non-refundable deposit online. Following the deposit receipt, our party planner will contact you to confirm your chosen activities and preferences, providing a comprehensive quote for your complete package.

What if our guest count changes?

We will check in with you closer to your party date to confirm final guest count.  If your guest count changes on the event date, your balance will be updated and you will only be charged for the guests that attend provided you meet the party booking minimum.

What is your cancellation policy?

To secure your requested event date, we require a non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance becomes due at the end of the party, and this balance alone is refundable if Milksmith Inc. receives written notice of cancellation more than 14 days prior to the event date. If we are unable to perform services, an alternative date will be rescheduled based on availability within the same contracted year.
